It has just dawned upon the winner of last year’s Napoleon Imitator Contest that the new kid is better. Much better.
We begin the new Curious Lucre site with Argentina. As I said in the first version: no one seems happy to be on Argentinian money. This fellow is Manuel Belgrano, general, statesman, flag designer, neck-swaddling enthusiast. A ship bearing his name was one of the more notable casualties of the Falklands War, if you recall.
These colors make the currency look like it’s been devalued so much it’s anemic.
(Note to any and all: this site is not intended as a serious, accurate, or respectful resource for information on other countries, except when it's obvious I'm passing along a fact I fished from the Internet. Those who are offended by the tone of the site are advised to wait until I get around to US money, which will get the same treatment. So relax.)
