Adolph Triedler was born in 1886, so he was in his 30s, well-established, when he landed the Chesterfield work. His WWI posters had made him famous, as well as otehr advertising work.

That's not a haircut that's coming back any time soon.

By the way: Triedler also did wartime posters for WW2; he died in 1981. Life is short, art is long - but he did better than most.
