WASP stood for "William A. Sheaffer Pen." It was a division of Shaeffer, but as you can tell it didn't boast the fact. The ad does mention Skrip ink, though; that was a Sheaffer product. Smart people could make the connection.

The second sentence in the body copy could be clearer, perhaps.
