1936 I love cigarette ads. I really do. Before they settled into the unsettling nightmares of the Newport “Alive with Pleasure” series or the tiresome yee-haa iconography of the Marlboro series, they were just damn odd, and talky, and full of genial surrealism. Like this one. |
