No, they had sheer drapes. They let in light and you could see something but other people couldn't look in.

Like I said, hon, they had the drapes closed. If the living room looks out on the back yard, you can keep the drapes open, and see the world. Keep an eye on the kids.

That's what you think I do all day? Sit in the living room reading a magazine and eating bon bons, looking up now and then to see if the kids are still around?

That's not what I meant at all. Besides, the bedroom window looks out on the street. You want to see the world, go to the bedroom.
