It is possible to admire Stan Freberg and still find some of his work a bit . . . much. But the satire of the conventions of the era requires excess, I suppose.

This first one contains a nice misdirection, serving up an ersatz Mrs. Olson, before heading to its proper subject: Minnesota's gift to the world.

Another from the same campaign: that's a lot of work for pizza rolls, but nice twist.

Modern eyes won't get the parodic aspect: it's a take-off on a Lark cigarette campaign which used the same music, and had people show their Larks to a roving camera.
