City Hall Park. The height of the We-Don't-Know-What-We're-Doing era. On the left, the Pulitzer building, also known as the World building; in the middle, with the wretched spindly tower, the Tribune building. Here's an interesting detail: neither the World nor the Tribune are published anymore, but both live on - the Pulitzer is of course a highly prized journalism award. And the Tribune survives in two incarnations there's the International Herald-Tribune, published overseas, and New York magazine, which began as a weekend magazine insert in the Herald-Tribune.
