Took me many years, but eventually I understood the appeal of hte Universal Monster movies. With the exception of a few, they're not very good movies, but they deliver something beyond the usual pleasures of fine cinema: hunchbacks, strangulation, and Lionel Atwill.

(In 2009 we looked at Frankenstein; 2010 brings us to the first batch of Dracs. in 2011 I added the Wolfman.)
