Who is this guy?

The Star subsituted a different strip for Jerry on occasion, which makes figuring out the plot a bit maddening. Where did he come from? An old friend of Givney?

In the great scheme of things it doesn't matter at all, but if we're going to be the only place on the planet to give Jerry his due, it's important. In any case, Figsby bolted out of nowhere, walked into the strip . . . and took it over.
