I believe this is the first reference to his name anywhere. I could be wrong. This isn't one of those sites people should consult when doing a research paper. But here it is:

But he gets on his mechanical horse, and - what's that, you say? Why a mechanical horse? I don't know why it's mechanical. It just is. Walt had a thing for robots that went way back.

 

 

Meanwhile, we notice something odd about Pegleg Pete:

 

 

No pegleg.

Eventually he's cornered by Oswald, who proudces an enormous gun of the sort you saw brandished in "Roger Rabbit."

 

 

 

The bullets are useless against Pete, who chokes Oswald until he spools out a yard of tongue:

 

 

 

 

 

 

Even Pete seems appalled by his actions.
