POST OFFICE. This was on the drawing boards before the Depression hit, I think. The old Post Office was built in 1930, and this style would be replaced by the severe Moderne of the WPA era. It’s not a particularly exciting building, but has the Roman dignity inherent to the style.  

Not to say it was frequented by men in togas. Think guys in white straw boaters who threw their cigars into the street on the way out of the building.
