Voyage to a groovy planet, baby:

I'm cutting out the three minutes of throat-clearing that starts the movie - lots of still shots of model rockets, which Scientists will use in the Future to explore the Universe, as the sonorous narrator explains. Speaking of which:

If the internet is correct - and why would we think otherwise? - he directed the movie as well, even though the stink of Corman infuses the effort. You have to admit he's got a good eye for sci-fi, though - heck, look at these shots from the flight to Venus! An actual rocket:

That's right. It's the last movie. Again. It's Voyage to a Prehistoric Planet, which is the Russian sci-fi movie Planet of Storms, re-edited to fool another batch of hapless moviegoers, some of whom must have sat in the audience with a stupified sense of deja vu. At least this one includes more footage from the Russian effort, or so I seem to remember; you get a sense of the scope and scale of the original movie.



All of which serves to remind you that the original was, in its way, considering its time and its origins, an impressive piece of work. So what's new about this version?
Babes.

Telepathic Venusian mermaids were added.
Sci-fi, yes, but now I think the title of this collection should have been 49.5 Sci-Fi Movies, at the very least.
