Let's enjoy a small collection of Tom Swift Jr. covers!

There’s a lot going on here. Bud has dressed up in a costume that combines Humpty Dumpty and the goose that laid the golden egg into one uncomfortable outfit. Tom has shown up to note that yes, your ass does look big in that thing, while Budd spontaneously breaks into his imitation of Aristotle from Raphael’s “School of Athens.” Or maybe he’s pointing to the shark. Or perhaps he’s saying “look, I can balance the entire ship on my fingertip!"

As for the ship, either it’s just hitting the ocean bottom now, or it was carrying a gigantic load of helium balloons in the stern when it went down.

This cover has one of those really cool machines Tom built by the dozens. The artist knew how to make them appeal to young men of any age. Chrome. Lots of chrome. And yankable chrome handles.
