Genet? As in Jean Genet, the son of a prostitute who set aside a childhood of petty crime and became a controversial novelist after the help of Jean Cocteau?

Wikipedia says that Castelnaudary considers itself the world capital of Cassoulet, and is a “major producer” of the stuff. Not sure how much competition there is; I'm sure everyone else in France just stands aside and lets them claim the honor. It's a casserole, or course, containing pig skin, goose, duck, and whatever you happened to shoot that week.

So this is like “Bar-b-que of Kansas City,” or some such analogue.
