Well, hold on. It’s not that bad. The light fixtures are good. Gobbler Red is nicely used; the contrasting tables set it off well. The walls appear to be beaded walls, something that caught on for about sixteen minutes, but we’ll let that pass. Perhaps this was where people with a modicum of taste held secret meetings, discussing their plans to bring back Art Deco and Streamlined Moderne.
Then they’d hear the hoots and laughs upstairs, and head back up the purple-shag stairs to see what was happening . . .
