Like any good restaurant with a powerful cache, the exterior is ordinary and the interior quite marvelous. This is the match from the old Jacques French Restaurant in Chicago. (900 N. Michigan Blvd., to be exact.) Don’t know much about it, except that the interiors were painted by this fellow. It was still around in 1964 when Mob bosses had a sit-down to ease out Sam Giancana. But that was many years after these swells floated through the aisles of the Jacques.
