This is the last of a sequence of matchbooks belonging to someone who worked in aerospace in the 40s. He lived well, to judge from the books he left behind. Lindy’s, I assume, was a West Coast version of the famous New York restaurant; hence the “Los Angeles” annotation. Google the address (3656 Wilshire Boulevard Los Angeles CA) and check the satellite option: there’s a big grey building on the spot that looks like a giant foot, smashing flat the past.
