Someone thought the motto made sense, I guess. “Where Courtesy Creates Its own Welcome.” Sounds high-flown and fancy and refined and all that, but what does it mean? Could just as well be run in reverse. Where its Welcome Creates its Own Courtesy!  Where Courtesy Welcomes its Own Creation!

Something about the managing-director’s nickname makes the whole place seem a little shady, too. It’s like seeing “Nicky Two-Pipes, Manager” on the office door. Nice that all the rooms are on the outside, but it might be inconvenient when the rain starts.

“TV optional” is never a good sign. TV must be mandatory.

Built in the 20s,  I surmise; they turned monsters out like one after the other in the jazz age. It went down hard in 1977.
