Don't think this was some stand-alone bowling alley, pal - this was part of the Showboat Hotel & Casino, a large property taht opened in 1954. The popularity of the lanes led to expansion - it had 106 lanes by the time they finished, and hosted many of those bowling tournaments you got stuck watching on a boring rainy late-winter Saturday afternoon when there was nothing, and I mean nothing else, on TV.

It was turned into a Castaway property in 2000; in 2006, kaboom.
