Little Ben lives in Fairbanks, the site says; the Normans split up in ’52, and Jessie became - among other things - a probation officer in California. Ben kicked around in radio, moved to the Black Hills, ran a motel - then shucked the Midwest for Tennessee, where he died in the 90s.

All of that’s ahead of them, of course.

Note how many of these bios come from “Hillbilly-music.com.” Isn’t that odd, given this is South Dakota? Apparently not; Western music was popular for the same reason C&W is today.

The difference, of course, is that modern stations don’t have their own bands.
