The Crescent – built with the plans for a Sonic Drive-In, apparently – was located in Walsenburg. The phone number, in its entirety, was “823.”
Not a great many phones in Walsenburg in those days, it seems. At least the neon sign would give comfort to travelers of the Mohammedian persuasion; Colorado in those days was not oversupplied with Islamic imagery.
