WOODEN SHOE MOTEL, Holland MI

“The Ultimate in comfort and convenience.”

Yes, if there’s anything that says comfort and convenience, it’s a wooden shoe.

The motel was “located at Holland’s world famous Wooden Shoe Factory. “ Still is, but now there’s a Menards across the street if you want to pick up something more flexible. If it’s one of those Menards that has shoes. Some do. Not all.

Reviews: brutal. The usual complaints - cleanliness and rude staff. I don’t know what it is about modern hostelry that turns out so many indifferent managers.

. . . we pulled around in the back and parked in front of the room number we'd be staying in, and there were two people that looked homeless smoking inside the room with the door open! I called the front desk from my cell phone because with the creepy people they had all over the place I was afraid to get out of the car! He said those were the EMPLOYEES! That they were new and didn't know any better!!

When we get to our room and the lights don't work and one lamp is even missing a light bulb! Then tried to call the front desk and the phone didn't work either! Last but not least I went into the bathroom and there was no toilet seat!!!!

It was the cheapest place in town so I figured I'd give it a shot and I guess you get what you pay for. The door to the room was open when I got there and there was snow all over in the room from the blizzard going on outside.
