CLARENCE PARKER, Minot ND

Technically not a motel. By which I mean, it's not a motel. Sorry. The back of the card says "Ladies Lounge - Clarence Parker Hotel - Minot, North Dakota - North Dakota's Finest."

Without googling at all I can tell you: I don't think so. But upon googling, well, maybe. For a short while.

History:

The Clarence Parker Hotel, today a senior center and currently named The Parker, sat for years as a steel perch and an eyesore. George Valker began construction of the would-be office building during the 1920's, but couldn't complete its construction. Ironically referred to as the Sparrow Hotel, Clarence Parker purchased the property and completed its last five stories in 1947.

Mr. Parker, by the way, was regarded as "most responsible for the repopulating of the bison" in North Dakota.
