The original notes on a previous version of the card said:
“Highways 66 - 270 - 81 and Interstate 40. Good luck finding that address. Attributes:
"Panel Ray heat."
Annnnd little else.
When I redid the site, I was determined to find it - and the little Beacon sign was the key. It was remembered as shooting location in "Rain Man," and some pages noted that it had changed its name to the Big 8, and then to the Deluxe. That helped me, and I found what remains of the Barton.
I almost wish I hadn't.
By the way, the Beacon / Big 8 / Deluxe was demolished - except for the sign.
