| Murder at the Casablanca Lounge |

| I found this picture in the StarTribune library, filed - surprisingly - under "Casablanca Lounge." It's one of those lost-in-every-way shots - the curvy cars, the men in hats, the fabulous neon over the bar and the black-and-white (and presumably mirrored) glass on the jewelry shop next door. I wondered why the people were milling around, and why this picture had been taken in the first place. It was dated 1944 . . . but unlike old photos, it didn't have a story taped to the back. These pictures never ran.
One guessed it wasn't a happy day for the Casablanca. I looked at the next picture to see if I could figure out why. |
