The story was told to me by a cab driver who said he'd taken one of the project's architects to the airport. The architect was upset that the building was not particularly well-loved, and spat that it didn't make any difference since Reagan was going to get us into a nuclear war anyway, just like "The Day After" and all these buildings would be gone.

I don't know if that happened. As for all these buildings, they're still here, and we live with them well enough. It's impossible to imagine that they'll ever not be here.
