Lovely image from what appears to be a gently civilized time, although you can’t smell the horse crap, hear the sloshing spittoons or the Hebe jokes or any other things one often forgets while staring longingly at the past. If this does seem like heaven, imagine how it would feel to be wearing those clothes when it’s 89 degrees.

The Orpheum in the picture is not the Orpheum of today; they tore it down and built a new one on Hennepin. Everything in this picture is gone except Dayton’s, although at least Radisson had the decency to put up another Radisson on the site.
