The First National Bank has occupied a number of headquarters in the last century and a half. Here are four - a nice tidy tour of commercial architecture trends in this century. All but the first are still standing, which is no small accomplishment.

The second is one of the city's unsung landmarks, a great blocky mountain that ruled the skyline for many years; the third was the symbol of the downtown's post-war revitalization.

The last one was built at the end of the 80s boom, and we won't see its like for a while. In fact, the bank itself is gone - it merged with US Bank, and the old name passed into history. The bank also occupied a tower in the Pillsbury Center, but I've ignored that for the purposes of this site.
