I love this building.

Really. When every other building in town looks like this, and you know that they knocked down precious old fine structure to put up another dull International Style building, you look on the genre with no great love. But we have one of these. One. It's the Lever House on steroids, pure clean modern architecture.

It was rehabbed in the 80s, its banking areas gutted and obliterated, just like its predecessor. The ground floor is now just for transit - elevators and escalators. Usually they screw up a building's spirit when they slap the current style on an older structure, but in this case the updated lobby just makes it look cooler. It now looks like the place where James Bond would meet Eisenhower to figure out how to defeat the Borg.
