It held down the corner on Hotel Row. As noted on the Vendome’s site, half the Milner looks identical to the Vendome. It’s possible it was built as an office and converted to a hotel; the big ground-floor retail is a bit odd for a hotel of the era. As you can see, the hotel didn’t lack for doors – two entrances with marquees, two smaller doors with big signs. Everything was built in different stages.
What a warren it must have been inside. And so well-ventilated, no doubt! How it must have smelled towards the end. Cheap soap and Lysol can only cover so much.
