| Note the small white building in the center of the picture - it's the XX building. Or the ?? Building. I'm not sure it ever had a name. When it was announced that this old Nicollet citizen was to be demolished, no one showed up at City Hall to complain. No one demanded historic status. I think people were so happy that its neighbor - the Lawyers building - was going to be torn down after a brief 14 year life, they didn't mind if this old bland box would be collateral damage. You have to give this little building credit for hanging on, though. It was about 80 years old, with most of its ornament gone. I took a walk around inside before its demolition, and it was a dive - sad, dusty, waiting for the end.
That's it, right here. Even then it was overshadowed by others.
