Sixtieth and Portland S. Minneapolis. This was a Phillips 66 station, I believe; the 66 logo used to top the pole that pierces the cantilevered roof. If the white Texaco stations were the epitome of 50s & early 60s design, this was the highlight of jet-age station design. John F. Kennedy wants you to refuel here with vigah! Or regulah. |
