The most beautiful building in town, for now and the foreseeable future. Our own Rockefeller Center - without the fabulous nightclub upstairs, regrettably.

The IDS was a big boost to civic pride, but this was the building that said Minneapolis was - for better or worse - a big city now. Since its construction, Norwest has merged with Wells Fargo, and the building was renamed.

Not here. This will always be the last of the great buildings of the Northwestern Bank, home of the Weatherball, a Midwestern institution. Wells Fargo Tower? Over my small dead body.

This site contains some pictures of the original designs, the building that stood on the site before this one went up, and some fancy-artsy shots of the building today. (The shot above, incidentally, was taken from the roof of the Foshay Tower.)
