A picture taken shortly after construction was complete. To the left, the Syndicate building; to the right, Donaldson's Glass Block. Both were modern in their day; both looked like fussy old bores next to the Rand Tower. Both are gone now. The little boy in the corner may have lived to see both demolished.

Views like this must have made Minneapolitians feel as if they lived in a true Big City - and compared to everything else 200 miles around, I suppose they did.
