Some details from a video taken in the 90s. The giant brick thing was the stagehouse. When it was torn down you could see some interior details that weren’t destroyed by the remodeling. Note the fifties can lighting. Below, some of the 1957 tile peeking out from behind the thick coat of handbills.
They couldn’t integrate the Shubert into the new design, but preservations fought its demolition. End result? Click on.
