Brown Derby, Hollywood CA. The original sign once said “Eat in the Hat,” this being an enticement few could apparently resist. The famous Derby was, of course, where Hollywood elite hung out and got smashed, and where the Cobb salad was born, much to everyone’s surprise, as Mrs. Cobb wasn’t due for a month. (Sorry.)
