GARDEN ROOM, Chattanooga TN

The casual-dining room of the Patten Hotel. Sorry, the Hotel Patten. The latter sounds classier.

It was built in 1908, and it looks like it has the usual mid-century modernization so many old downtown hotels suffered. I like this, but who knows what they ripped out to build it?

The mural, by the way, was by a Hanna-Barbera background illustrator.

"A pleasant place to start your day at breakfast and to enjoy luncheon." Translation: no supper.
