The population was 1996 in 2020. Its accomplishements and status may be great, but the Wikipedia entry's first paragraph says it's "approximately 15 miles closer to Terre Haute than to Bloomington." They had a big fire iun 1914, so most of these structures may date from its reconstruction.

Doesn't fit the building, but people didn't care about that too much. It was modern! Gave the street some new life.

The one in the middle seems identical to the one on the left, in its basics. But the rusticated stone suggests it's older.
