This is Windy, an abandoned pup at the shelter. Don't bother calling - he's been gone 20 years, at least. The paper would trot out a lovable puppy every year for the annual open house to get people to show up and adopt; everyone always wanted the dog in the paper, but by the time they got there, the pup was gone. Bait 'n switch. The back of this photo bears several date stamps, indicating that Windy was used to bring in the traffic on a number of occasions. This photo no doubt earned Windy a good home, but it has a curious message: if you don't come and get Windy, we'll hang him.
