Aye, royal digs at thr-ifty rates. The Imperial 400 chain suffered from a peculiar image; the Scots may have been known for thrift, but not for empire. They had a distinctive office, which looked like a Howard Johnson office had collapsed on itself.
I stayed at one in 1976.
Grim.
But the matchbooks were nifty; the next page shows the interior of the book. They weren't thrifty with the promo material.
