CORAL COURT MOTEL, St. Louis MO

Not a good trip, apparently. The author of the message on the back of the card wrote:

"We are anxious to get out of the city. Packard is just about the right size for us. Smog, traffic, and people just like Los Angeles. Kevin likes it, David doesn’t want it."

Sent to Rural Route 2 in Iowa, where the recipient perhaps smiled smugly: told you about those big cities, didn’t I? I did.

The Coral Court of St. Louis was famous, or rather infamous – it was a no-tell motel, a route 66 landmark, an Art Moderne gem, a murder site. More info available here.
