The trajectory of the medium in the 60s was, I fear, downwards. That's subjective, of course. People who loved the cool groovy with-it shows of the end of the decade regarded the shows of the early 60s as square and uptight. I suppose it depends about whether you regard the first part of the decade as the problem, or the second part.

This site relies on the contributions of many YouTubers who've rescued these ephemeral items. It shouildn't have to be a volunteer effort, but the networks never seemed particularly interested in their own history.

The TV Guide 1968 site contains scans of all the program listings, with links scattered around to bring the year back to life. (I check for link rot every other year.)
